NHS Immunisation Information is the communications arm of the Immunisation Team at the Department of Health. The team comprises a consultant paediatrician, a senior medical officer, principal and senior scientists, immunisation experts from the NHS and specialists in areas such as vaccine supply, health informatics and communications. All of these experts, together with advice from the staff of the Health Protection Agency, input into the development, maintenance and updating of the immunisation website.

This process is managed by the web publisher under the head of the NHS Immunisation Information team.

* We welcome your comments on our resources and website, and consider all comments we receive carefully. However, we regret that we cannot enter into correspondence on any topic or issue including personal questions about vaccinations or any other medical/clinical enquiries.

The Department of Health does not hold patients' individual health records. These are strictly confidential and are maintained by GPs in their surgeries. Immunisation records are kept by child health information systems in primary care trusts. Parents wishing to check their child's immunisation histories should contact their surgery in the first instance.

If you have a query about immunisation, browse the FAQs on the website where answers are provided to common questions that are asked. However, if you have a specific medical question or need personal medical advice, you should contact a health professional, your local clinic or surgery, or phone NHSDirect on 0845 4647.
